THE SPECIES
The brood species is not one to trifle with. If you were looking for the horror niche of the marvel universe, you have found it. The Brood are a manifestation of everything that we fear about our tiny insect brothers. The species originates from Sleazeworld and are inherently savage, evil creatures. They enjoy the suffering, terror and death of others. These are the demons of the Marvel Universe. The Brood are a parasitic species and must steal the body of another to use as host for reproduction. This makes them extremely dangerous and destructive. In the comics, The Brood target our planet and species for host. As you may imagine, that proposition did not go down well with the earth's mightiest heroes.
Once again, we cannot pinpoint the insect inspiration for this species, we can only examine the specific insectoid traits. Each Brood has the following: 2 sets of legs, 2 arm-like limbs, a set of transparent wings, an endoskeleton, an exoskeleton and a poison stinger in the tail. Much of this is mirrored in the insect world. We don't however see insects with both endo- and exoskeletons. This makes the Brood particularly deadly and resistant. The brood have fanged jaws, where insects often have mandibles. Their stingers can administer both paralyzing and deadly poison.
